Does age matter in a relationship?

Is age a problem in a love relationship, Should an age difference be a problem? Personally I feel age is just a number and it’s what the person is like that should matter but it seems not everyone shares my view on that.

It's not the age that's the problem; it's the maturity of both parties. And there are also loads of other factors that affect a relationship. You can't really classify people based on their age - on one hand there are some people who never grow up and on the other there are teenagers who are mature beyond their years. Even a couple with a large age gap could be compatible with each other; it all comes down to their personality.

Age is only a number and you both are only as old as you feel. If you love each other have a great time. Don't let anyone change your mind .You have to do that feels right to you.

On the other hand it can be a slight issue for example if a 20 year age difference can be problematic because there is a difference in value between the average 20 yr old and average 40 yr old. But it really comes down to compatibility, I guess.

I've met very mature 20 year olds and very immature 40 year olds and find that relationships with big age gaps don't fail because of the ages, but because of attitudes, expectations, and cultural references.

How bout woman that date younger woman? What are your thoughts on that?

Celebrity examples of this phenomenon include 33 year old Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria who is married to 25 year old basketball player Tony Parker and Demi Moore is married to Ashton Kutcher who is 16 years her junior. At the other end of the age range Joan Collins, who is in her 70’s, married Percy Gibson who is 32 years her junior not to forget Denzel Washington who is also younger than his wife, they have been married for over twenty years.

What are your thoughts on this?
